Objective: 

To introduce the students with different forms of folk dances in India. to make them aware of the rich cultural heritage .
to discuss with the students with the basics of various folk dances, hand movements, costumes, rhythm, theoretical aspects of the various folk dances.

Unit I: 
UNIT-I • Definition of Folk Dance, Classical Dance & Tribal Dance. • Types of Folk dance and Classical Dance, their similarities & differences.
Unit II: 
• Folk dances of Rajasthan (Traditional / Seasonal / Devotional) (Ghoomar / Kalbelia / Terah Taali / Chirmi / Panihari / Gair / Bhavai ).
Unit III: 
• Instruments & costumes of Rajasthani Folk Dances.
Unit IV: 
• Basic knowledge of the following Folk Dances of India (Dandia, Garba, Lavni, Koli)
Unit V: 
• Basic knowledge of the following Folk Dances of India : Tribal, Bhangra, Giddha, Bihu
