Shadow Pupperitary

The students of the IISU Theatrical Society and COSD Theatre Studies students attended a workshop on 15th and 16th January, 2019 at Jawahar Kala Kendra. It was organized jointly by JKK and Australian High Commission in India. The trainers of the workshop were from Slingsby Theatre, Adelaide. The workshop started with warm-up and introduction of the trainers and the participants. Then the participants were made to play a theatre game called 'Something in Common', in which participants had to say aloud a thing we liked to do. If anyone amongst the group liked the same thing the participants were made to exchange places. In the next exercise the whole group was divided into 4 sub groups of 5 each. Each group was given a particular theme, that was- love, home, journey and fear. Then one of the coordinator taught us how to do shadow puppetry in the concerned field. After that each team was asked to show their creation in a way of story with the use of paper cuttings, scissors, glue and torch. It was an amazing experience and the students came home a lot of new learning in a new form of theatre.
